Rwanda, popularly known as the land of a thousand hills with endless expansive lush mountains and diverse natural beauty,lies with in the great lakes region of Central Africa, and boasts of moderate climate.

Mountains dominate the center and west of the country, while the east consists of savanna,plains and swamps.The mountains are part of East African Rift valley.

The heighest peak, which is also Rwandas highest point is mount Karisimbi. It is a land locked country, surrounded by Uganda to the north, Tanzania to the east, Burundi to the south and the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west. It has five volcanoes, twenty -three lakes and numerous rivers.It is one of Africa’s smallest countries(26,338 sqkm) and the most densely populated country in the world.

Economically Rwanda largely produces tea,coffee,sugar, fish and flowers. It also has natural resources such as tin, gold, natural gas and Tanzanite. Tourism is growing faster in Rwanda with the gorilla being the most selling attraction. Rwanda has several national parks of which the most visited are; Akagera national park which is Rwandas big 5game park, Nyungwe national park which is habitat for many species of primates and birds and the Volcanoes national park which protects the Rwanda portion of Virunga mountains and it is famous for mountain gorillas.Rwanda has a rich culture with diverse fine crafts and strong traditions. Look out for Rwandas Agaseke baskets which is famous around the world. Cultural Tourism initiative are high on agenda in Rwanda, which is promoting community tourism some of which include, visit to local villages,local dance(Ballet), local beer,tea and sorghum production, fishing and boating tours.Rwanda is truly a country with some thing for every one to enjoy.
