Queen Elizabeth National Park has Biosphere Reserve status awarded by UNESCO.
Conservation size ; 1978sq km and incorporates a Ramsar Wetlands . Queen Elizabeth National Park is under standably Uganda s most popular tourist destination.The parks diverse ecosystem, which include sprwaling savanna, shady,humid forest,sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, make it the ideal habitat for clasic big game,ten primate species including chimpanzee and over 600 species ofbirds.Key species:- Martial eagles, African skimmers, Lesser flamingoes, Verreauxs eagle owl, Papyrus gonolek, Caruthers cisticola etc.
The park is set against the back drop of the jagged Rwenzori mountainsand located along the Equator in the south-westUganda.
The park activities include: birding,chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura gorge, bat cave,game drives(thru Kasenyi,north kazinga and Ishasha sector famous for tree climbing lions), hiking/nature walks, launch trip along the kazinga channel,cultural heritage and nature trail(cultural performers and harvesting salt on katwe),wild life reaserch tour, nyanzibiri cave community and agro tour walk.
