Day 1: Start early and drive to Lake Manyara. Unpack at campsite. Game drive in Lake Manyara. Eating lunch inside park. The park has dense forest so you will get very close to Black monkeys, Blue monkeys and baboons. Also you can get very close to elephants, giraffes and hippos. If you are lucky, you can see lions in the tress. The park has a very nice lake with plenty of birds. After game drive, you will return to the campsite and have dinner. The campsite is close to the village “Mosquito River” so you can take a walk there.
Day 2: Drive to Ngorongoro crater (2 hours). Game drive and picnic lunch down in the crater. If you are lucky, you can see the Big 5 (Elephants, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino) inside the crater. There is also a lake in the crater with thousands of flamingos. Usually, you can also see many antelopes, zebras, gnus and hippos. When you have lunch watch out for the hungry black birds! They can come too close sometimes. In the afternoon drive to Embakai crater you will eat dinner and sleep in a special camp on the rim. (2500 meter above sea).
Day 3: Walk down the Embakai Crater. The distance is 150-300 meters. A ranger will follow you sown into the crater. Then a Masaai guide will walk with you from Embakai to Nayobi Village. At the highest point you are about 2600 meter above sea. Dinner and overnight at Nayobi Village.
Day 4: After breakfast, you will walk from Nayobi village down to the mountain OldonyoLengai. The walk will take about 6 hours. Through Massai land and Akasia Forest to open hills and down to dry area by the foot of the Mountian of Good. The View of Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron is fantastic. When you reach the flat land, your car will pick you up and drive you to an oasis amp to a refreshing river. If you are not tired, you can walk up to the river to the waterfalls.
Note: When you are walking in Masaai land, you will meet many different people who will be curios. If you ask politely, you might take pictures of them. Some want money for doing it, and some they don’t want at all to be taken picture of. Please respect their culture and ask before taking pictures.
Many women and children will sell you jewelers. This is a golden chance to get real Masaai things instead buying it in a souvenir shop. And you will know that the money stay to those who have made it.
Day 5: Wake up early and drive to Lake Natron. Then you will continue to drive towards Serengeti. You will climb the wall of Great Rift Valley and continue through a strange landscape where few people live. The road is probably one of the worst you will ever experience. You will eat lunch on the way to Serengeti and have a game drive before you camp at Lobo.
Day 6: If you are not lazy, you will have a game drive in the early morning when the sun is rising. At this time, many animals will be more active than later on in the day. After breakfast, you will continue with a game drive for the rest of the day, only intervened by lunch. You can see zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, Cheetahs, hippos and many different birds. Dinner will be served in the evening at Seronera.
Day 7: After breakfast, you will have a short game drive before you start driving back. On the way, you will pass Ngorongoro crater and have lunch on the way before you reach Moshi or Arusha.
