Check Out Itinerary

Day 1: Start early and drive to Lake Manyara. Unpack at campsite. Game drive in Lake Manyara. Eating lunch inside park. The park has dense forest so you will get very close to Black monkeys, Blue monkeys and baboons. Also you can get very close to elephants, giraffes and hippos. If you are lucky, you can see lions in the tress. The park has a very nice lake with plenty of birds. After game drive, you will retune to the campsite and have dinner. The campsite is close to the village “Mosquito River” so you can take a walk there.

Day 2: After an early breakfast, set off for Lake Eyasi with your lunch box. Visit the village of Bushmen. Dinner and overnight at Campsite.

Day 3:Drive to Ngorongoro crater (2 hours). Game drive and picnic lunch down in the crater. If you are lucky, you can see the Big 5 (Elephants, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino) inside the crater. There is also a lake in the crater with thousands of flamingos. Usually, you can also see many antelopes, zebras, gnus and hippos. When you have lunch watch out for the hungry black birds! They can come too close sometimes. In the afternoon drive to Nainokanoka. Walking to Olmoti Crater and see waterfalls (1 hour). Walking back to Nainokanoka for dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 4: Wake up early and eat breakfast. When you are walking in the conservation area, you will be followed by a Masaai guide. The environment is living and using the environment around you. On this morning walk, you will pass the “Bulbul depression” it’s an easy walk that takes 3 hours. Lunch will be served at Bulati.

Alternative 1: After the lunch, you walk from Bulati camp and up to Embakai crater rim. This is hard walk since it’s up, up, up and it will take like 5 hours. When you reach the top, you will have a fantastic view down to theEmbakai Crater. Dinner and overnight at Embkai special camp a few meters from the rim.

Alternative 2: After lunch, you will drive to a Masaaiboma where you can get into Massai house and see how a family is living. The women and men will also perform their traditional dance. After learning more about the Masaai culture, you will drive to the Embakai crater rim where dinner will be served and you overnight in the special camp.

Day 5: Walk from Empakaai special camp to Naiobimasaai village. On this walk, you will walk on a path in dense forest. Lunch in Naiobi village. From Baiobi village there is no more road. This mean that you get donkeys to carry the equipment for the rest of the walk. The Masaai guide will follow you all the way together with your cook. At Naiobi village, you can see Lake Natron, OldoinyoLengai (the holy mountain of the Masaai), Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru. After lunch, you proceed downhill to Acacia special camp. This is easy walk since its slowly downhill. Dinner and overnight in tent at Acacia special camp.

Day 6: After breakfast walking from Nayobi down the mountain OldonyoLengai. The walking will take about 6 hours. Through Masaai land and Acacia forest to open hills and down to dry area by the foot of the Mountain of Good. The views of Great Rift Valley and Lake Natron are fantastic. When you reach the flat land your car will pick you up and drive you to an oasis camp close to a refreshing river.

MIDNIGHT: Trekking for OldonyoLengai Mountain. It is very steep, like a pyramid.

Day 7: After descent from the trekking you will have breakfast at the campsite. Resting and/r walking to the waterfalls. To get to the waterfalls, you should not be afraid of the water since you have to walk more in the water than by the side of the river. But in the end, the struggle is worth the view. Dinner and overnight at the campsite.

Day 8:after breakfast, you will drive to Lake Natron. Then you will continue to drive towards Serengeti. You will climb the wall of Great Rift Valley and continue through a strange landscape where few people live. The road is probably one of the worst you will ever experience. You will eat lunch on the way to Serengeti and have a game drive before you camp at Lobo.

Day 9: If you are not lazy, you will have a game drive in the early morning when the sun is rising. At this time, many animals will be more active than later on in the day. After breakfast, you will continue with a game drive for the rest of the day, only intervened by lunch. You can see zebras, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, Cheetahs, hippos and many different birds. Dinner will be served in the evening at Seronera.

Day 10: After breakfast, you will have a short game drive before you start driving back. On the way, you will pass Ngorongoro crater and have lunch on the way before you take the night at Karatu.

Day 11: after an early breakfast, you drive to Tarangire National Park for game drive and picnic lunch. After the game drive, you will go back to Arusha or Moshi.

Note: When you are walking in Masaai land, you will meet many different people who will be curios. If you ask politely, you might take pictures of them. Some want money for doing it, and some they don’t want at all to be taken picture of. Please respect their culture and ask before taking pictures.

Many women and children will sell you jewelers. This is a golden chance to get real Masai things instead buying it in a souvenir shop. And you will know that the money stay to those who have made it.
