Mt Elgon National Park

Mt Elgon National Park is the world largest mountain caldera at 4000km sq. It is at the border of eastern Uganda and western Kenya. It is mountainous regional land scape  and cool heights offerrespite for humans from the hot flora and fauna. The park is ahome to over 300 species of birds, including the endangered Lammergeyer. The mammals include ; small antelopes,forest monkeys, elephants and buffalos also live on the mountainside.The higher slopes are protected by nationalparks in Uganda and Kenya, creating an extensive trans _boundary conservation area which has been declared aUNESCO man and Bio sphere Reserve.

it also has cave paintings, waterfalls like sipi falls,cliffs,hotsprings.There are four trails to mountain elgon, sasa, sipi,piswa andsauna trail. You can ascend from one trail and descend from another trail or ascend from Kenya and descend from Uganda.

Mt Elgon is home to three tribes, Bagisu, Sabini and Ndorobo.

The activities include: mountain climbing, mountain biking,birding,hiking, nature walks, rock climbing, sport fishing and cultural encounters
