The smallest savanna park at 260 sq km. Lake Mburo is the gem of the park, conviniently located close to the westrn high way that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It has diverse habitats of open savannas, dry savannas, lakes, swamps, rocky outcrops, forest, woodlands, thickets and dry hill sides provides suitable ecosystems to awide range of fauna and flora. It is the best park to view the gigantic eland, impala, zebras and acacia associated birds. The has an impressive bird list of 332 species. Key species:- Red faced barbet, Long tailed cisticola(Tabora), Papyrus yellow warbler, African fin foot, Brubru, Rofous bellied heron, Black collared barbet, Brown chested plover(Jul-Dec), White winged tit, Northern brown throated weaver, White winged warbler. The park activities are: nature walks(it is conducted on foot in close proximity to wild animals) , game drives,boat trips, horseback riding, birding, sport fishing, hiking and nature walks
