18 days Birding Safari in Africa/Uganda

Day 1: Upon arrival at  Entebbe air port, transfer to Entebe for an over night stay.After resting we visit Entebbe botanical gardens in search of Grey Wood Pecker,Black and White Casqued Hornbill,Weavers and Green-throated and Red chested Sun birds. Accommodation at Boma guest house/Air port guest house.

Day 2: To day we visit Mabamba swamp.We enter lake victoria in hand paddled boats looking for Shoebill,African Marsh Harrier, Lesser jacana, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, White winged Warbler and later transfer to lake Mburo national park for two nights. Accommodation at Mburo safari lodge/Eagle nest

Day 3: Aday exploring lake Mburo, an area of wetlands and acacia forest which lure Senegel lapwing, Bare-faced Go-way-bird,Eastern GreyPlaintain-eater and White-winged Tit. We take aboat on lake Mburo in search of the rare White Backed Night Heron, African Fin foot, the African Giant King fisher, Papyrus Gonolek and White Winged Warbler.Accommodation at Mburo lodge/Eagle nest.

Day 4: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable national park,or journey takes us through high lands of Kabale birds en-route include Augur Buzzard,White-headed woodhoopoe,Black crowned Waxbill and entually in Buhoma ahuge montane forest for two nights. Accommodation at Buhoma community lodge/Siliver back lodge.

Day 5:Bwindi is the best forest birding in Africa.The key species that we look for here include many of Albertine Rift endemics such as Black Sawwing, Petit's Cuckoo-shrike, Vanga flycatcher, Mackinnon's fiscal, Luhder'sBush-shrike, White-tailed and Red -throated Alethe, CreastedGuineafowl, Black bee-eater and many more species. Accommodation at Buhoma community/Siliver back lodge

Day 6: After break fast we transfer to Ruhija. The Neck is an important habitat for birds like Grey-headed and Little Green

sunbirds, Dusky Blue Flycatcher,Pink-footed puffback,mountain wagtail,Rwenzori Apalis's, Doherty's Bushshrike,Mountain Oriole, Regal and Blue-headed sun bird. Accommodation at Broadbill/Engagi camp

Day 7: Still in Ruhija as it has many birding areas we shall explore in search for Handsome Francoline,Rwenzori Nightjar, Dwarf Honey guide, African Green Broad bill,Acher's Robin-Chat, Red-throated Alethe, Collared Apalis,Stripe-breasted Tit,Strange Weaver.Afew other species we may encounter are Ayres's Hawk-Eagle,Fine-banded and CardinalWoodpeckers,mountain Wagatail,Dusky Twinespot and many more species.Accommodation at Broadbill/Engagi camp

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park,birding enroute. We go through Ishasha in search for Yellowbill, African firefinch,Black Cucokoo-shrike,Red-billed duck and GreaterPainted-snipe. Accommodation at Mweya/Engagi lodge

Day 9: Full day exploring Queen Elizabeth National Park. We take amorning game drive to Kasenyi in search for Scaly francolin,Crowned lapwing, Harlequin, Quail and common button-quail, Lappet-faced and White-backed Vultures,Martial Eagle and in the afternoon, we go for aboat trip along Kazinga channel, this is famouse for water birds like Saddle-billed stock, African spoonbill and African Skimmer.Accommodation at Mweya/Engagi lodge.

Day s10-12 Transfer to Fort portal for two nights stay and on Bundibujo next to Semiliki Park.We shall be able to see White-bellied Kingfisher,Black-casqued,Black Dwarf and Red billed Dwarf Hornbills, Forest Robin, African piculet,Yellow- throated nicator, Hartlaub's Duck, Long-tailed Hawk, Black-collared lovebird, yellow throated Cuckoo and many more. The afternoon of the 12 day we transfer to fort portal town for anight stay.

Day 13 After breakfast we transfer to Masindi enroute we will see Speckle-breasted Woodpecker,Lesser Honeyguide,Brown-crowned and black headed Tchagras,Grey woodpecker, White Helmetshrike and African gey parrot .Accommodation at Masindi hotel/Budongo Eco lodge

Day 14 An early start in order to enter Budongo forest and Royal mile.We shall be locate Chocolate-backed and Dwarf kingfisher, Brown-eared and yellow-crested woodpeckers, Grey Apalis, Forest robin, Red-Capped Robin-Chat, Red -chested Malimbe, Greylongbill and colonies of Yellow-backed weaver. Over night at Masindi hotel/Budongo lodge

Day 15 Travel to Murchison Falls National Park and we drop into the rift valley. We locate Brown snake Eagle, White-bellied Go-away- bird,  Foxy Cisticola, Red- Winged Grey Warbler and Brown-throated Wattle-eye Accommodation at Para lodge/Red chill

Day 16 Full day in Murchison , we cruise up the victoria and albert nile towards lake Albert which is haven of water birds like Goliath Heron, Long-toed lapwing, Senegal Thick-knee, Blue-breasted Bee-eaters. After noon game drive in search for Crested and Heuglin's francolins, Black bellied Bustards and Flappet lark and Abyssinia Ground Hornbills. Accommodation at Para lodge/Redchill

Day 17 Travel to Kampala and on Mabira forest birding enroute Accommodation at Rain forest lodge/Haven river lodge

Day 18: After break fast we wil bird mabira forest in search for forest birds and later transfer to Entebbe for the out bound flight back home. Many more species  not mentioned will be located during birding in different areas.
